The third men’s ITF World Tennis Tour tournament of the year in Slovenia concluded on Sunday in Litija, with Frenchman Lilian Marmousez claiming the title. In an exciting final, the No. 1 seed came from a set down to defeat Italy’s Michele Ribecai 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 and lift the M15 Litija Herz Open trophy.

Ribecai had earlier ended the run of Slovenia’s best-performing player, Bor Artnak, in the quarterfinals. Artnak was one of nine Slovenians competing in the main draw.

The final match drew a strong local crowd, including the honorary president of Tennis Slovenia, Marko Umberger, who was present to witness the high-quality tennis on display. After dropping the first set, Marmousez found his rhythm and dominated the rest of the match to seal a convincing victory.

“It’s been an amazing week for me,” said Marmousez after the final. “I played at a consistently high level throughout the tournament. The courts were in great condition, and the weather was good too. I’m overjoyed to have won this title.”
