Fourteen teams competed in seven Qualifiers Second Round ties across the world last weekend, with the seven winners advancing to the Final 8. They join defending champions and hosts Italy in Bologna, with the teams competing to be crowned 2025 world champions at Bologna Fiere on 18-23 November.
The draw ceremony was attended by Feliciano Lopez (Davis Cup Final 8 Tournament Director), Angelo Binaghi (President of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation), Andrea Abodi (Minister for Sport and Youth), Giammaria Manghi (Sports Policy Coordinator – Emilia-Romagna Region) and Roberta Li Calzi (Councillor for Sport and Budget – Municipality of Bologna).
Feliciano Lopez, Davis Cup Final 8 Tournament Director, said: “Every player who represented their nations in the Qualifiers 2nd Round last weekend left everything they had on the court, and they all deserve their chance to do it again at the Final 8. It was great to be at today’s draw which has produced some very exciting ties. After three successful years in Malaga, I am looking forward to starting this new chapter of the Final 8 in Bologna and can’t wait to come back in November.”
Angelo Binaghi, President of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation, said: “Coming back from Málaga as world champions for two consecutive years has been one of the most moving experiences of our leadership. The Davis Cup is a historic tournament, loved across the globe, and hosting its final stage in Italy is a true source of pride. Bologna has built a special connection with this event: the warmth and energy of its crowd have already fueled our past triumphs. And after the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, we’re ready for more unforgettable days – thanks to the joint effort of the ITF, the Department of Sport, the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Bologna. We’re set to write a new chapter in our tennis history, with a unique show and an even stronger foundation for the future of our sport.”
