The fourth women’s WTT tournament of the year in Slovenia came to a close in Portoroz, as Ukraine’s Oleksandra Oliynykova claimed the title at the I Feel Slovenia Portoroz Open 2025, an ITF World Tennis Tour W50 clay-court event with a total prize pool of $40,000.

Held at the newly renovated tennis center in the coastal city, the final saw World No. 217 Oliynykova rally from a set down to defeat Sweden’s Kajsa Rinaldo Persson. After dropping the opening set, Oliynykova mounted a spirited comeback to secure a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory and lift the trophy.

“I played excellent tennis today,” said a visibly emotional Oliynykova after the match. “Every match is important for me because I play for my country—Ukraine. Here in Slovenia, we feel strong support. Slovenians haven’t forgotten about us. It’s truly beautiful here, and I love your country.”

The tournament featured 12 Slovenian players, three of whom earned spots in the main draw. However, all three were eliminated in the opening round, highlighting the depth of international competition at the event.

As one tournament ends, another begins. The Krka Open Otocec 2025, the fifth WTT tournament in Slovenia this year, is now underway. Ten Slovenian players competed in the first round of qualifying, with Ela Plosnik, Petja Drame, Kristina Novak, and Manca Pislak advancing to the second round.

Thanks to wild cards from the organizers, Ziva Falkner, Pia Lovric, Ela Nala Milic, and Alja Senica will feature in the main draw of the event, continuing Slovenia’s strong representation in the international tennis scene.
