HAMBURG/STARNBERG, January 15, 2026
The Bitpanda Hamburg Open have secured another world-class name for their 2026 edition: Felix Auger-Aliassime will compete at the prestigious ATP 500 tournament from May 16 to 23 at Hamburg’s Rothenbaum. The Canadian becomes the second elite player, after Alexander Zverev, to confirm his participation.
Currently ranked No. 7 in the world, Auger-Aliassime has been a mainstay among the global elite for several years and is coming off an outstanding 2025 season. The 25-year-old reached the semifinals of the US Open and the ATP Finals in Turin, where he recorded high-profile victories over players such as Zverev and Ben Shelton. He also captured multiple ATP titles last year, including triumphs in Adelaide, Montpellier and at the European Open in Brussels. At the Paris Masters, he finished runner-up after falling to world No. 2 Jannik Sinner in the final. In November 2025, Auger-Aliassime climbed to a career-high No. 5 in the ATP Rankings.
The Canadian has fond memories of Hamburg as well. At the 2025 Bitpanda Hamburg Open, he advanced to the semifinals and impressed fans and experts alike with his versatile and aggressive style of play.
“We are very pleased to announce that Félix Auger-Aliassime, the current world No. 7, has entered for the 2026 Bitpanda Hamburg Open as our second top player,” said tournament director Enric Molina Mur. “Felix enjoyed a magnificent 2025 season with several tournament wins and a semifinal appearance at the US Open. He already delivered an outstanding performance here last year. His return reflects the special connection he has with our tournament and the passionate tennis fans in Hamburg. With more top players to be announced soon, the 2026 edition promises an exceptional week of world-class tennis.”
Auger-Aliassime is equally enthusiastic about his return to the Rothenbaum. “I’m really looking forward to being back at the Bitpanda Hamburg Open in 2026,” he said. “I still remember the atmosphere from last year very well – the fans in Hamburg always create something special. I want to build on my strong performances from the 2025 season.”
Earlier, Alexander Zverev had already confirmed his participation. The Hamburg native and fan favorite, winner of the Hamburg Open in 2023, was announced in December as the first top player for 2026. Currently ranked No. 3 in the world, Zverev also belongs firmly to the very top of the global tennis elite.
