The 2025 Davis Cup Qualifiers second round gets underway on Friday with a number of intriguing match-ups resulting from Thursday’s draws.

The action begins with Japan’s home tie against Germany on Friday-Saturday, with four more ties also to be played on Friday-Saturday before Australia’s home tie against Belgium and Spain’s home tie against Denmark take place on Saturday-Sunday.

“Starting tomorrow, each match will really be a battle. Of course, we don’t know what the results will be, but I want us to give everything we have and we’ll fight as a team, hoping that the results will follow,” Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka said.

Jaume Munar from Spain said: “Representing this team as number one is something truly important and special. Over all these years, we’ve had spectacular players as number ones who have made this team what it is today, so I consider it an honour and a privilege.”

A total of 33 Davis Cup ties are taking place around the world this weekend, with seven ties in the Qualifiers second Round, 13 World Group I ties and 13 World Group II ties.
