Chris Rodesch knew only victory during his stay in Portugal and on Sunday crowned a dream run by winning his second consecutive ATP Challenger title at the Indoor Oeiras Open.

One week after lifting his first trophy, the world No. 209 claimed the second with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Daniil Glinka, Estonia’s No. 2 and a semifinalist at the previous week’s event.

In their first-ever meeting, Rodesch was broken in the opening game but responded immediately with a break back and went on to reel off four consecutive games. From that point on, the Luxembourger – coached by compatriot and former world No. 21 Gilles Muller – never relinquished control.

The two-meter-tall powerhouse proved the steadier of two highly aggressive players and, after creating several chances in the second set, produced a clinical break in the penultimate game to seal the match in one hour and 45 minutes.

Moments later, Rodesch was celebrating the second title of his career in Portugal from three finals (he had lost his first, less than a year ago, at the ITF M25 in Loulé) and completing a rare Challenger double on Portuguese soil. It was only the fourth time such a feat has been achieved in the country, and in recent years only Gastao Elias had managed it, back in 2022 at the same complex, then on clay.

“It’s an unforgettable feeling. It was another perfect week and I never imagined I would win everything,” Rodesch said in his post-match press conference. “When I traveled to Portugal I was just thinking about the first match, and I ended up winning 17 of the 18 sets I played. I’m very happy and I think I deserve to be in this position because I was the best player in every match.”

With these two titles, Rodesch is set to climb around 70 places in the rankings, surpassing the career-high No. 150 he reached last summer and moving ever closer to his long-awaited top-100 debut. He earned €15,510 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.
