Italy’s Franco Agamenone captured the title at the AAT Challenger edición TCA, the first international tournament of the season in Argentina, with a 3–6, 6–4, 6–2 victory over home favorite Andrea Collarini in Saturday’s final. Watched closely by his coach, former professional Pedro Cachin, the 32-year-old produced a composed comeback to secure his sixth title at this level.
Ranked No. 335 in the world, Agamenone recovered well after dropping the opening set, leveling the match before taking control in the decider with two crucial breaks of serve to seal the Buenos Aires trophy. A doubles specialist as well, the Italian now boasts a total of 43 career titles across the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF World Tennis Tour.

On his path to the championship, Agamenone recorded wins over US-American Bruno Kuzuhara, Brazil’s Matheus Pucinelli De Almeida, Argentine Juan Manuel La Serna, Bolivia’s Murkel Dellien and, in the final, Collarini, who is ranked No. 240.
Despite the loss, the tournament marked a positive start to the season for Collarini, who is now coached by former ATP player Carlos Berlocq. The Argentine enjoyed a strong week, defeating compatriots Luciano Ambrogi and Lucio Ratti, as well as Brazil’s Pedro Boscardin Dias and Peru’s Juan Pablo Varillas.
In the doubles competition, local player Mariano Kestelboim teamed up with Brazil’s Marcelo Zormann to lift the AAT Challenger TCA title, defeating Romania’s Bogdan Pavel and Mircea-Alexandru Jecan 6–3, 6–4 in the final.
Argentina’s international tennis calendar continues with the Rosario Challenger, scheduled from February 1 to 8 at the Jockey Club de Rosario, where at least eleven local players are expected to compete alongside wild cards and qualifiers.
