Tennis is a sport all about traditions and World No. 2 Iga Swiatek has made a nice tradition in playing the WTA 500 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany each year. She’s become a popular regular in Porsche Arena the past five years – so much so that the 24-year-old two-time Stuttgart champion (2022 and 2023) has made an early commitment to return to this year’s tournament. Swiatek’s entry in this year’s Porsche Tennis Grand Prix was announced by tournament organizers on Thursday.
The reigning Wimbledon champion Swiatek joins World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus, a three-time finalist whom she beat in the 2022 and 2023 Stuttgart title matches, and German No. 1 Eva Lys among the competitors who will make up the 28-player draw for the April 11-19 event.

“I can hardly wait to get back to Stuttgart for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix,” Swiatek said in a statement. “Playing the tournament is a nice tradition I have. I’m looking forward to the fantastic atmosphere in the Porsche Arena and the top-class tennis. As always, I’ll be giving my best to go as deep as possible.”
Markus Günthardt, the tournament director for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, said in a statement: “We’re delighted that Iga has entered. Having a six-time Grand Slam champion is a real honor. Our audiences love Iga for her classy tennis and her tireless fighting spirit.”
In addition to winning last year’s Wimbledon Championships title, Swiatek has won four French Open crowns (2020, 2022-24) and one US Open title (2022). She also won the 2023 WTA Finals title. Also, last week, Swiatek was part of Team Poland, which won the 2026 United Cup championship.
