Matteo Berrettini and Frances Tiafoe, two of the ATP Tour’s biggest crowd favorites, have confirmed their participation in the BOSS OPEN 2026, to be held from June 6–14 in Stuttgart. Together with defending champion Taylor Fritz, three proven champions will return to the prestigious grass-court event at the TC Weissenhof, all of whom have already etched their names into the tournament’s history.

Berrettini has achieved something special in Stuttgart, lifting the trophy twice. In 2019, the Italian defeated Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets, and in 2022 he overcame two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray in a high-quality three-set final. In 2024, Berrettini came close to a third title, but after winning the opening set of a thrilling final, he narrowly fell to Britain’s Jack Draper.

It is not only Berrettini’s status as a global brand ambassador for title sponsor BOSS—alongside defending champion Taylor Fritz—that has made him a fan favorite in Stuttgart. The 29-year-old Roman captivates crowds with his thunderous serve, powerful forehand, and his warm, charismatic personality off the court.

Stuttgart is a fantastic tournament that I’ve already won twice. Those memories are still very vivid, so I’ll do everything I can to build on them,” Berrettini said. “The BOSS OPEN hold a special place for me, and I’m really looking forward to coming back next year.” A member of Italy’s victorious Davis Cup team in both 2024 and 2025, the ten-time ATP title winner has also claimed two grass-court titles at London’s Queen’s Club (2021, 2022).

Like Berrettini, Frances Tiafoe is known for his spectacular shot-making and close connection with the fans. The American lifted the BOSS OPEN trophy in 2023 after a dramatic final victory over home favorite Jan-Lennard Struff. The charismatic “Big Foe” is always good for a highlight shot—or an impromptu high-five with the crowd.

Tiafoe’s affection for the tournament goes well beyond his title win. “Everyone here is incredibly nice to me, the crowd is one of the most respectful on tour, and the atmosphere at the Weissenhof is amazing,” he said. “Plus, BOSS has incredibly cool fashion,” he added, explaining why he feels at home in the region.

After Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, and local hero Jan-Lennard Struff had already confirmed their participation earlier this year, the addition of Matteo Berrettini and Frances Tiafoe further strengthens an already star-studded field for 2026.

“With the commitments from Stuttgart champions Matteo Berrettini, Taylor Fritz, and Frances Tiafoe, as well as Jan-Lennard Struff and Tommy Paul, fans can once again look forward to a world-class tennis highlight at the BOSS OPEN 2026,” said tournament director Edwin Weindorfer. “These announcements underline the tournament’s growing importance at the very start of the grass-court season.”
