Two local players and one fan favourite from Kazakhstan form the first trio of confirmed participants for the 2025 Generali Open Kitzbühel, scheduled for July 19–26. Austria’s Sebastian Ofner and Filip Misolic will bring red-white-red spirit to the tournament, while Alexander Bublik adds another spectacular name to the player field of Austria’s biggest clay-court event.

An Austrian duo is already locked in for the 81st edition of the ATP 250 tournament. Sebastian Ofner has made Kitzbühel a permanent fixture in his calendar. He first made headlines at the event back in 2017 by reaching the semifinals — a breakthrough moment on home soil. “I’m really looking forward to the Austrian tournaments – we don’t have many, so they mean all the more to me,” said the Styrian. “In terms of my game and my mindset, I’m on a completely different level now compared to back then.”

Filip Misolic will also return to Kitzbühel in 2025. In 2022, he made one of the most memorable runs in tournament history by reaching the final as a surprise contender. “Unforgettable, how he marched through the draw back then,” recalls tournament director Alexander Antonitsch. The 23-year-old is currently riding a wave of momentum from Paris, where he caught attention by reaching the third round at Roland Garros, with standout performances including a match against Novak Djokovic. “I feel good, I’m improving day by day, and I hope to break into the Top 100 soon,” said Misolic.

Antonitsch sees strong potential for the Austrians: “With the support of the fans, they can achieve great things here.”

Bublik: Showman and French Open Quarterfinalist Heads to Kitzbühel

Alexander Bublik returns to Kitzbühel for the first time since 2020. The 27-year-old Kazakh made history at the French Open this year by becoming the first male player from his country to reach the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam, with impressive wins over the likes of Alex de Minaur and a stunning victory against Jack Draper.

“The fact that Bublik is now playing so well on clay and has committed to Kitzbühel is especially exciting for us,” said Antonitsch. “He’s a player who excites fans with his creative and varied playing style.”
