Brazil’s Pedro Boscardin and Argentina’s Gonzalo Villanueva captured the doubles crown at the Santos Brasil Tennis Cup 2025 this Saturday in Santos. The South American duo defeated top seeds Boris Arias and Federico Zeballos from Bolivia in a tightly contested final, winning 6-2, 6-7(3), 10-7.

Despite a rainy Satruday that forced the tournament’s doubles final indoors and postponed the singles semifinals, the championship match delivered thrilling tennis for the fans who braved the weather at the Tenis Clube de Santos.

Boscardin and Villanueva started strong, dominating the first set 6-2 with aggressive returns and consistent play. In the second, they fended off three set points at 5-6 but ultimately dropped the tiebreak 7-3. The match tiebreak was full of drama, with both unforced errors and spectacular rallies. In the end, the pair secured their first title together, sealing the win 10-7.

“We’ve played a few tournaments together, we’re good friends, but this is the first time we’ve won a title,” said an emotional Pedro Boscardin after the match. “I’m really happy with how I’ve been playing and thankful to everyone who stayed and supported us despite the rain.”

This victory marks Boscardin’s sixth career doubles title — four of which have come on the ATP Challenger Tour. The winning team collects 50 ATP Ranking points and a prize of $2,980, while the runners-up earn 30 points and $1,740.

In addition to the ranking points and prize money, both the champions and finalists received luxury watches and commemorative coins with diamond accents, courtesy of Vivara.
