VAL GARDENA/STARNBERG, October 15, 2025
The Raiffeisen ITF M15 Men’s Val Gardena Südtirol is set to bring world-class tennis back to Selva this autumn, and this year’s entry list promises exceptional quality. The ITF World Tennis Tour M15 event, held at the indoor hard courts of TC Gherdëina, combines international stars with local heroes, reflecting the tournament’s growing prestige. Qualifying begins on October 26.
Leading the local charge is Pietro Orlando Fellin (ATP No. 482), currently the No. 3 South Tyrolean behind Jannik Sinner and Alexander Weis. Fellin, who thrives on fast surfaces and at altitude, made his breakthrough here last year — upsetting top seed Sebastian Fanselow and reaching the quarterfinals, before capturing the doubles crown alongside his cousin Christian. His rapid rise of 786 ATP ranking spots over the past year adds extra local interest.
Also returning is Stefano Napolitano (ATP No. 529), who triumphed in Selva two years ago. Earlier this season, the Italian reached the third round of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, pushing eventual finalist Nicolas Jarry to three sets. After a long injury layoff, Napolitano is looking to rebuild his ranking under the guidance of coach Marco Bortolotti, starting with this tournament.
The international lineup is just as impressive. Top seed Tom Gentzsch (ATP No. 291) of Germany, 2022 champion Sandro Kopp (ATP No. 337) of Austria, and Lucas Poullain (ATP No. 357) of France headline a strong field. Defending champion Giovanni Oradini, currently World No. 583, barely makes the cut for the main draw — a clear sign of how the tournament’s profile has grown.
The tournament offers a total prize money $15,000.
