Alec Deckers produced a golden week at the Setubal Open, capping it off by winning the ITF World Tennis Tour M25 title staged by Clube de Tenis de Setubal in Portugal for the 10th time.

The 25-year-old from the Netherlands began his campaign in qualifying and did not stop until the trophy was in his hands, stringing together seven victories — the last three in three sets — and saving a match point along the way in a marathon three hours and 55 minutes semifinal.

On Sunday, World No. 1034 Deckers survived another battle, rallying past Spain’s World No. 721 Mario Gonzalez Fernandez 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 after two hours and 57 minutes to seal the title.

A former Top 500 player (No. 483 in August 2023), Deckers claimed the fifth and biggest title of his career, and his first at ITF M25 level. His previous trophy came in July 2023 and was his only one on clay — until now.
