ITF Press Release, August 8, 2025

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is delighted to announce that Ross Hutchins has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Hutchins brings significant expertise to the position with his extensive presence over the past two decades across tennis and management. Formerly a professional tennis player, Olympian, Davis Cup player and Tournament Director, Hutchins has held various executive level roles at the ATP Tour over the past 11 years and will bring vast knowledge and experience to the ITF.

Currently ATP Chief Sporting Officer, he will join tennis’ global governing body at the end of October 2025.

With a proven track record of leadership, strong international relations, strategic future planning and world-class event delivery, the ITF Board considered Hutchins as the standout candidate to lead the ITF into its next chapter after a thorough and competitive recruitment process.

As CEO, he will oversee the ITF’s strategic direction, operations, and global development work. He will also lead the continued growth of the World Cup of Tennis events Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup, as well as the ITF’s management of tennis and wheelchair tennis at the Olympics and Paralympics and the qualification pathways for both events.

He will also oversee the ITF Tours including Juniors, World Tennis Tour, Masters, Beach and Wheelchair which are vital for the player pathway and those playing communities, as well as being a key focus for participation.

He will drive the continued development of tennis worldwide and delivery of the ITF’s long-term vision, working with the Board, 213-member National Associations, the International Olympic Committee, International Paralympic Committee and the wider international tennis community.

Hutchins will succeed Kelly Fairweather, who announced earlier this year that he would be standing down after nine years at the ITF.

ITF President, David Haggerty, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ross as the new CEO of the ITF. As the long-standing global guardian of the game, the ITF has a unique responsibility to protect and grow tennis worldwide, at every level.

“In recent years, the ITF has built strong momentum across key areas, from digital innovation and the restructuring of our tours to the introduction of a balanced calendar, and the continued growth of wheelchair tennis.

“Ross brings the leadership, vision, and experience to the ITF that will help us deliver on our mission for the benefit of players, fans, and nations around the world.

“I would like to thank Kelly Fair weather for his nine years of service and for his assistance with the transition process.”

Incoming ITF CEO, Ross Hutchins, said:

“It is an honour to be joining the ITF at such a pivotal time for the sport, and I am delighted to be taking on the role. After an enjoyable and fulfilling 11 years at the ATP for which I am very grateful, the time is right for a new challenge. The breadth of the work the ITF undertakes is inspiring, with its continual goal to drive the sport forward across all levels of the game and I am extremely excited and energised for the challenge ahead.

“I look forward to working with the President, Board, the tennis family, all partners and our 213 member nations to help ensure our sport continues to thrive both domestically and internationally, and remains a game for life that all our current and future fans can enjoy.”
