Two Americans who created excitement at the ongoing Australian Open have entered the qualifying tournament for the Delray Beach Open. Qualifying rounds will take place on opening weekend Feb. 14-15. Four qualifiers will advance to the main draw of the ATP 250 event that runs Feb. 16-22 at the Delray Beach Stadium & Tennis Center.

Eliot Spizzirri defeated 28th seed Joao Fonseca in the Grand Slam’s first round and pushed second seed Jannik Sinner to four sets in the third round before falling to the defending champion. Ethan Quinn upset 23rd seed Tallon Griekspoor and former DBO champion Hubert Hurkacz to also reach the third round of the year’s first Grand Slam tournament.

The Legends event starring former Grand Slam champions Juan Martin del Potro and the Bryan Brothers, along with other legends which include Tommy Haas and the Jensen Brothers, gets underway on Friday, Feb. 13 and runs throughout opening weekend alongside the qualifying rounds. New this year, kids 14-and-under enjoy free admission Feb. 13-15 with the purchase of an adult ticket in person at the box office.

The 16 players in the qualifying draw will compete to join a stellar field which includes Taylor Fritz, Casper Ruud, Tommy Paul, Learner Tien, Cameron Norrie, Flavio Cobolli and Frances Tiafoe in the Delray Beach Open main draw. Fritz, world-ranked No. 9, is a two-time champion of the tournament, Tiafoe is the 2018 winner, Norrie is the 2022 winner and Paul was the 2024 runner-up.

Tien reached the Australian Open quarterfinals, and at age 20, he is the youngest American man to reach a Grand Slam final eight since Andy Roddick at the 2002 US Open. View the Delray Beach Open main draw player field here.

The strong qualifying field features seven players who have played previously in the tournament’s main draw, and two who have won titles on the ATP Tour. There is a 16-year age gap between the oldest and youngest in the field.
