SOMA BAY/STARNBERG, January 25, 2026
Lloyd Harris has clinched the title of the Soma Bay Open. The No. 5 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 75 hard-court event benefited from the retirement of third-seeded Briton Jack Pinnington Jones in Sunday’s singles final.
Harris was leading 6-1, 5-2 when Pinnington Jones was forced to stop playing due to a right foot injury.

Harris, who opened his season with two first-round losses at the Bengaluru Open in India and in the qualifying to the Australian Open, booked his spot in the championship match with wins over Saba Purtseladze of Georgia, Belgian Michael Geerts, Maxim Mrvia from the Czech Republic and Edas Butvilas of Lithuania.
By lifting his seventh ATP Challenger Tour career trophy, his first since 2024, the 28-year-old South African collected $17,000 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.
The tournament offered a total prize pool of $107,000 and was hosted by the S Tennis Academy Somabay, situated in a serene Red Sea peninsula on Egypt’s eastern coast, known for its crystal-clear waters, soft sandy beaches, and year-round sunshine. Surrounded by vibrant coral reefs, it’s a paradise for snorkelers, divers, and wind-sports enthusiasts.
