BUENOS AIRES/STARNBERG, January 16, 2026
Andrea Collarini advanced to the semifinals of the AAT Challenger edición TCA, being played on the clay courts of the Tenis Club Argentino in Buenos Aires. The finalists of the tournament will be determined this Friday.
Currently ranked No. 240 in the ATP Rankings, Collarini is the only Argentine still in contention at the Buenos Aires event. In Thursday’s quarterfinals, the four-time Challenger champion delivered a convincing performance on Court 3 at the Palermo venue, defeating Brazil’s Pedro Boscardin Dias in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

Two of Collarini’s Challenger titles came on home soil in 2024, at the AAT Challengers in San Miguel de Tucuman and Santa Fe. The Argentine also closed the 2025 season on a high note, finishing as runner-up at the Florianopolis Challenger, and has now claimed six wins in his last seven matches.
In the semifinals, Collarini will take on Peru’s Juan Pablo Varillas, who lifted his most recent trophy earlier in 2025 at the AAT Challenger in Tigre. Varillas reached the last four after defeating second seed Lautaro Midon of Argentina in a three-set battle, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
The two players have faced each other 12 times since 2013, with Varillas holding an 8-4 advantage overall. However, Collarini has won their last three meetings, in Modena and Villa María in 2024, and in Tallahassee in 2025.
The second semifinal will feature Bolivia’s Murkel Dellien, who overcame Spain’s Nikolas Sánchez Izquierdo 6-3, 5-7, 6-3, against Italy’s Franco Agamenone. Agamenone booked his place in the semifinals with a 7-6(3), 6-3 victory over Argentina’s Juan Manuel La Serna.
