World No. 3 Amanda Anisimova is the latest Top-20 player named to compete in the 2026 Credit One Charleston Open, the tournament announced Friday.
Anisimova, a two-time Grand Slam finalist, joins fellow Americans Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys and Emma Navarro, as well as Tokyo Olympic Games gold medalist Belinda Bencic, in what will be one of the strongest fields in tournament history.
The Credit One Charleston Open, from March 28 to April 5, kicks off the WTA Tour’s spring clay season and it will make history this year as the first standalone WTA 500 event to offer equal prize money.
The 24-year-old American from Florida reached both the Wimbledon and the US Open finals in 2025. She also garnered two WTA 1000 titles, in Doha and Beijing, that lifted her ranking into a career-best world’s top five. She also qualified for the WTA Finals.
After reaching the finals of both Wimbledon and the US Open and capturing WTA 1000 titles in Doha and Beijing, Amanda earned her first qualification to the WTA Finals and was named the WTA’s Most Improved Player of 2025. https://t.co/0sBGPBC2ob

Anisimova was recently named the WTA’s Most Improved Player of 2025. She will join fellow Americans World No. 6 Pegula, World No. 7 Keys and World No. 15 Navarro at this year’s tournament on Daniel Island in Charleston.
“We look forward to having Amanda back in Charleston,” said Bob Moran, President of Beemok Sports & Entertainment, in a statement. “Her journey over the past two seasons has been nothing short of extraordinary. To step away from the sport and return stronger than ever speaks to her resilience, talent and competitive spirit. Our fans have always admired Amanda’s style of play, and having her compete in the Credit One Charleston Open this year adds an incredible level of excitement to the tournament.”
This year will be Anisimova’s sixth appearance at the Credit One Charleston Open. She has previously reached the semifinals in Charleston twice, most recently in 2025.
“I’m really excited to play Charleston again. I’d love another shot at the title after having to retire in the semifinals last year,” Anisimova said in a statement. “The tournament and the city have such a fun atmosphere, and the fans mean a lot to me. I’m looking forward to coming back strong and competing again this spring.”
