Nishesh Basavareddy of the United States and Spain’s Rafael Jodar have qualified for next month’s Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF. Their announcements, made Saturday by the ATP Tour, completes the eight-player field for the 20-and-under event that will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from December 17-21 at the King Abdullah Sports City on indoor hard courts.

Basavareddy, 20, will be making his second-straight appearance in the Next Gen ATP Finals after breaking into the ATP Top 100 in June, when he reached a career-high ranking of No. 99. His best finish on the ATP Tour came when he reached the semifinals at Auckland last January after defeating Francisco Comesana, Alejandro Tabilo and Alex Michaelsen. On the ATP Challenger Tour, Basavareddy reached the quarterfinals at Aix-en-Provence, Lexington and Guangzhou. Currently ranked No. 166, he’s compiled a 26-26 win-loss record in all competitions this season.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old Jodar, now ranked No. 167 after being ranked outside the Top 900 in March, won three ATP Tour Challenger Tour titles since August after competing collegiately for the University of Virginia: Hersonissos, Lincoln and Charlottesville. Additionally, Jodar reached the semifinal round in Morelos, Milan, Hersonissos and Tiburon. In all competitions this season, he’s 39-12. Jodar, who won the 2024 junior boys’ US Open champion, was an alternate in Jeddah last year. He is the third Spaniard to win at least three ATP Challenger Tour titles, joining Carlos Alcaraz and Nicolas Almagro.

Joining Basavareddy and Jodar in Jeddah are: Jakub Mensik of Czechia, 2024 runner-up Learner Tien of the United States, Alexander Blockx of Belgium, Dino Prizmic of Croatia, Martin Landaluce of Spain and Nicolai Budkov Kjaer of Norway.

Past champions of the Next Gen ATP Finals include: Hyeon Chung of South Korea (2017), Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece (2018), Jannik Sinner of Italy (2019), Carlos Alcaraz of Spain (2021), Brandon Nakashima of the United States (2022), Hamad Medjedovic of Serbia (2023) and Joao Fonseca of Brazil (2024).
