Spain’s Davis Cup captain David Ferrer has announced the team that will compete in the Final 8 of the Davis Cup in Bologna from November 18 to 23. The lineup features Carlos Alcaraz, Pablo Carreno Busta, Jaume Munar, Pedro Martinez Portero, and Marcel Granollers representing the MAPFRE Spanish National Team.

Spain will open its campaign against the Czech Republic on Thursday, November 20, in the quarterfinals. The Czech team arrives in great form, having secured a 3-2 away victory over the United States in Delray Beach and previously defeating South Korea 4-0 at home. Their squad is led by Top-20 players Jiri Lehecka and Jakub Mensik, alongside Tomas Machac.

Pablo Carreno Busta was instrumental in Spain’s dramatic comeback against Denmark in the second-round Qualifier held in Marbella this past September. The team overturned a 0-2 deficit for the first time in its history, with Carreño clinching the decisive fifth point. Earlier in the year, Spain had also defeated Switzerland 3-1 in Biel during the first round.

The winner of the Spain–Czech Republic tie will face either Argentina or Germany in the semifinals. In the top half of the draw, defending champions Italy will take on Austria, while France meets Belgium.

The Spanish delegation is set to travel to Bologna on November 14, beginning training the following day at the Super Tennis Arena at Bologna Fiere.
