Real Murcia Club de Tenis 1919 has been crowned champion of the MAPFRE Spanish Absolute Men’s Team Tennis Championship after defeating Real Club de Tenis Barcelona 1899 with an emphatic 4-1 victory on Saturday.
The home team secured the national title thanks to four commanding wins, all decided in straight sets. Ivan Gakhov opened with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Albert Ramos, followed by Javier Barranco, who defeated Alex Marti 6-3, 6-3. Raul Brancaccio then cruised past Jorge Plans 6-0, 6-1.
The decisive point came when Pablo Llamas sealed the championship for Murcia with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Pol Martin Tiffon, securing the team’s overall triumph.
The final match between Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo and Max Alcala was halted at 6-2, 2-0 in favor of the Barcelona player, as the overall result had already been determined.

The trophy ceremony was attended by Carmen Conesa, Regional Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports; Fran Sanchez, Director General of Sports; Miguel Diaz Roman, President of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation; Jose Alcolea, President of the Murcia Tennis Federation; and Antonio Saura, President of Real Murcia Club de Tenis 1919.
