Moez Echargui was crowned champion of the Hersonissos Challenger 4. The top seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 50 hard-court event benefited from the retirement of seventh-seeded Frenchman Dan Added in the singles final. On a sunny Saturday in Crete with temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) Echargui was leading 5-7, 6-4, 3-0 when Added was forced to stop playing due to heat exhaustion after almost two and a half hour of play.

Echargui battled his way through the top half of the draw en route to the championship match with wins over Jay Dylan Friend of Japan, Pavlos Tsitsipas from Greece, German Mats Rosenkranz and No. 6 seed Robin Betrand from France.

The 32-year-old Tunisian lifted his second ATP Challenger Tour career trophy following his triumph in Porto, Portugal in early August. Echargui, currently ranked on a career-high of World No. 191 pocketed €7,530 in prize money as well as 50 ATP Ranking points.

The fourth tournament of the Hersonissos Challenger was hosted by the Lyttos Sports Centre. Hersonissos is one of Crete’s most popular seaside resorts, known for its lively atmosphere, sandy beaches, and vibrant nightlife. Visitors can enjoy crystal-clear waters, traditional tavernas, family-friendly attractions, and excursions to nearby villages that showcase authentic Cretan culture. Whether for relaxation, history, or entertainment, Hersonissos offers a blend of experiences that make it a favorite destination on the island.
