GENEVA/STARNBERG, May 24, 2025
Novak Djokovic earned his milestone 100th tour-level title on Saturday at the Gonet Geneva Open, battling past sixth seed Hubert Hurkacz in a thrilling final.
In a match that lasted three hours and five minutes—the longest of the tournament—the former World No. 1 staged a determined comeback to win 5-7, 7-6(2), 7-6(2) on the Geneva clay.
Djokovic recovered from a 4-2 deficit in the final set, showing trademark resilience and composure in back-to-back tiebreaks to seal victory and lift the ATP Tour 250 trophy.

“I had to work for it, that’s for sure. Hubi was probably closer to victory [in] the entire match than I was,” Djokovic said. “I had some chances in the first set to break his serve, then had a bad game which ended up with the double fault on set point.
“I was just trying to hang in there, I don’t know how I broke his serve. He probably broke himself in the third, when he was 4-3 up, but this is what happens at the highest level. Very few points decide the winner. Incredible match, 7-6 in the third with a full stadium, beautiful atmosphere. I’m just grateful to clinch the 100th here.”
By winning his 100th tour-level title, Djokovic joined an elite group of players in the Open Era, becoming just the third man to reach the triple-digit milestone, alongside Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103).
The Serbian superstar’s journey to this historic mark began in 2006, when he captured his first ATP title in Amersfoort, defeating Nicolas Massu—now the coach of Hubert Hurkacz—in the final.
