Arthur Rinderknech is the first singles champion of the 2021 ATP Challenger Tour. The 25-year-old qualifier took the title of the €132,280 Istanbul Indoor Challenger held at the Ted Sports Club in Istanbul, Turkey. Rinderknech emerged victorious from Sunday’s all-French final with Benjamin Bonzi, winning 4-6, 7-6(1), 7-6(3).

The Paris resident fired 20 aces in the championship match and won 85 per cent of his first-service points to secure victory in two hours and 16 minutes.

Following his triumphs on home soil in Rennes and Calgary, Canada last year, Rinderknech lifted his third trophy on the ATP Challenger Tour. He pocketed €18,290 in prize money as well as 125 ATP Ranking points and is up to World No. 134 in the live rankings.

Both Frenchmen will return to their home country to compete in next week’s Open Quimper Bretagne Occidentale, which is kicking off a three-week indoor swing in France.
