BRUNSWICK, July 4, 2015

The ATP Challenger Sparkassen Open main draw ceremony took place in Brunswick this Saturday.

Top-seed Pablo Carreῆo-Busta will take on German wild card Florian Mayer in the opening round. The 23-year-old Spaniard has claimed four ATP Challenger titles within the last two years. Last victory came in Perugia three weeks ago. Mayer, former world number 18, is still on his comeback trail, meeting the Spaniard for the first time on the tour.

The tournament’s second favourite Marcel Granollers will face André Ghem for the second time on the tour. The only previous meeting between the two took place at the Challenger in Aracaju, won by Granollers after the Brazilian had to retire in the third set.

Defending champion Alexander Zverev will take on a qualifier in the opening round and could face his brother Mischa only in the semi-finals.

Nils Langer, entered the draw by special exempt, as the 25-year-old from Ludwigsburg had to play the final at the ATP Challenger in Marburg on Saturday. Yet, the German lost in three sets to Inigo Cervantes.

Last direct acceptance is another of nine Germans in the main draw. World number 153 Tobias Kamke will play Taro Daniel, who has already claimed one Challenger title this season on German soil, winning the tournament in Fürth in June.
