The match is scheduled for the second slot on the Cap Cana Stadium court, where play begins at 3:00 p.m. local time.
Hurkacz, currently ranked No. 71 in the world, received a first-round bye as the tournament’s fourth seed. The Polish star has won eight ATP Tour titles in his career, including two prestigious Masters 1000 trophies in Miami in 2021 and Shanghai in 2023.
Top seed Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia will also begin his campaign on Thursday. The world No. 58 will face US-American Mackenzie McDonald, who advanced after a hard-fought three-set victory over Spain’s Martin Landaluce, winning 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 in a match that lasted two hours and 20 minutes.
