The Real Murcia Club de Tenis 1919 has awarded its Golden Badge of Honor and honorary membership card to World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz. The distinction was presented this afternoon by club president Antonio Saura, accompanied by members of the board, during a private ceremony held at the club’s facilities.

Alcaraz returned to the Region of Murcia after being diagnosed with a muscle edema that will prevent him from competing with Spain in the opening Davis Cup tie against the Czech Republic in Bologna, Italy.

Club president Antonio Saura highlighted the significance of the moment, calling it “an honor to present the Golden Badge to a player like him, someone we’ve seen grow up on our courts and who is an extraordinary role model for everyone who loves this sport.”
