This Friday, the semifinalists of the 24th edition of the Uruguay Open will be decided. With no local players left in the quarterfinals – following the elimination of Franco Roncadelli on Thursday night at the hands of Chile’s Tomas Barrios Vera—six of the eight seeds remain in contention for a place among the final four.

Mariano Navone, the second seed and highest-ranked player still standing after the opening two rounds, will face sixth seed Roman Andres Burruchaga in an all-Argentine clash.

Fourth seed Carlos Taberner will also meet a fellow seed as he takes on Barrios Vera, the No. 8 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 100 clay-court tournament.

Another Chilean, fifth seed Cristian Garin, will square off against Paraguay’s Adolfo Daniel Vallejo, while the day’s action will start with a showdown between seventh seed Ignacio Buse of Peru and Brazil’s Gustavo Heide.
