He’s taken down Top players, reached two ATP finals, debuted for Argentina in Davis Cup, and climbed as high as No. 29 in the world. Now, Mariano Navone is ready to light up the Challenger Ciudad de Guayayil.
In February of last year, Navone made his breakthrough on the ATP Tour by reaching the final of the ATP 500 in Rio de Janeiro, jumping from World No. 113 to No. 60 in just one week. Since then, the Argentine from Nueve de Julio, situated in the Province of Buenos Aires Province, has established himself inside the Top 100 and earned a reputation as a dangerous opponent for some of the game’s best.
Over the past two seasons, Navone has also reached the final at the ATP 250 in Bucharest, advanced to the second round at the Paris Olympics, and made history as the first Grand Slam debutant to be seeded, at Roland Garros 2024 — where he reached the third round.
Navone grew up playing at Club Atletico 9 de Julio, dreaming of one day representing Argentina. That dream became a reality this year when captain Javier Frana called him up for the Davis Cup tie against Norway. In that series, Navone became the hero, clinching the decisive fifth rubber to secure a 3–2 away victory for Argentina.

A year ago, Navone achieved a career-high ranking of No. 29 in the world. Currently ranked No. 85, he’ll be one of the marquee attractions at the ATP Challenger Tour event in Guayaquil as he looks to lift the trophy on his debut at the tournament and climb back up the rankings.
