Rain was the main protagonist on Friday at the Copa Faulcombridge by Marcos Automoción, held at Club de Tenis Valencia, where persistent showers forced multiple delays and schedule adjustments throughout the day.

Despite the weather interruptions, play eventually resumed on Court 1 in the afternoon, where both doubles semifinals were completed in front of a patient and enthusiastic crowd. In the first encounter, the Brazilian duo Marcelo Demoliner and Orlando Luz overcame Ariel Behar and Rafael Matos of Uruguay and Brazil, respectively, 7-5, 3-6, 10-8. The tightly contested match went down to the wire, with Demoliner and Luz proving steadier in the decisive super tiebreak to book their place in Saturday’s final.

In the second semifinal, Daniel Cukierman of Israel and Spaniard Iñigo Cervantes produced an impressive performance to defeat the US-American team of Mac Kiger and Trey Hilderbrand, 6-2, 7-6. The Spanish-Israeli pair controlled the match from the start and held their nerve in a tighter second set to seal their spot in the final, weather permitting.

On the Pablo Andujar Centre Court, the singles action also provided plenty of drama. Croatian Luka Mikrut battled past Germany’s Christoph Negritu 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 in a hard-fought quarterfinal. After dropping the first set, Mikrut showed great composure to edge a tense second-set tiebreak and carried his momentum into the decider, breaking serve at a crucial moment to clinch victory and a place in the semifinals of the ATP Challenger Tour 125 event.

Closing the day’s play, local favorite Carlos Taberner delighted the home crowd with a composed 6-4, 6-4 win over Argentina’s Marco Trungelliti. The Valencian handled the pressure of playing on home soil with maturity, using his consistent baseline game and calm decision-making to secure a straight-sets victory and a semifinal spot at his home club.
