Emma Navarro and Jessica Pegula both won three-set singles matches to ensure victory for USA in their semifinal tie against Great Britain at the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals in Shenzhen on Saturday. The result means that USA will contest the Billie Jean King Cup final for the first time since 2018.

Navarro dropped the first set against Sonay Kartal but responded impressively to win the match and put the Americans into the lead. Pegula’s match against Katie Boulter followed a similar script, with the world No. 7 also coming from behind to win and seal the victory for her nation.

“We’re all having so much fun. It’s the first time I’ve ever been into a final, the first time [the USA team] all have been,” said Pegula. “It’s a new experience that I get to experience with all of them, so that’s fun. We’re happy about today. We’ve got to regroup and be ready for Italy. I think we’re just really enjoying the moment. Win or lose, we’re such a great team. It’s a privilege to be amongst all these girls and to experience it.”

Those triumphs give USA the chance to compete for the title for the first time in seven years, with Lindsay Davenport’s team through to face defending champions Italy on Sunday. USA are now one victory away from a record-extending 19th Billie Jean King Cup title.
