ROTTERDAM, September 5, 2025 (Press Release)
Alex de Minaur, a finalist in each of the past two editions of the ABN AMRO Open, will once again compete in Rotterdam in 2026. The Australian World No. 8 is the second top-10 player confirmed for next year’s tournament. This year’s champion, Carlos Alcaraz, has also confirmed his return.
Tournament Director Richard Krajicek: “Alex de Minaur has performed exceptionally well here in recent years. Reaching two consecutive finals shows he feels at home in Rotterdam. Having both finalists from the latest edition confirmed gives us a fantastic foundation for our player line-up.”
Chasing an indoor title
De Minaur has achieved his greatest successes on fast courts. All ten of his ATP titles have come on either hard court or grass. In 2024, he claimed the Libéma Open title. Remarkably, all of his trophies have been won outdoors, with his first indoor title yet to come.
Krajicek: “He could very well capture that first indoor title here. With his return game and speed, he is a formidable opponent for anyone. He pushed Carlos Alcaraz to the limit in this year’s final, and his place in the world’s top 10 is well deserved. He proved that once again this week by reaching the quarterfinals at the US Open.”
Previous appearances in Rotterdam
De Minaur made his debut at the ABN AMRO Open in 2021, reaching the second round. In 2022, he lost in the quarterfinals to Stefanos Tsitsipas. In 2023, he was stopped at the same stage by Grigor Dimitrov. His best results came in 2024 and 2025. Victories over Sebastian Korda, David Goffin, Andrey Rublev, and Grigor Dimitrov earned him a spot in the 2024 final, where he lost to Jannik Sinner 7-5, 6-4. Earlier this year, he again advanced to the final with wins over David Goffin, Jakub Mensik, Daniel Altmaier, and Mattia Bellucci, before falling to Carlos Alcaraz 4-6, 6-3, 2-6.
