While Carlos Alcaraz, who has trained at the Ferrero Tennis Academy since the age of 15, was lifting the Masters 1000 trophy in Cincinnati, another talent shaped at the same academy was making his breakthrough on the professional circuit. Seventeen-year-old Darwin Blanch claimed his first ATP Tour match win at the Winston-Salem Open, defeating three players ranked inside the world’s Top 120.

Blanch, who has been training at the Ferrero Academy since 2022, is currently enjoying the biggest moment of his young career. Earlier this summer, he was crowned U.S. Under-18 National Champion, a title that earned him a direct wild card into the main draw of the 2025 US Open, where he will make his Grand Slam debut.

Before arriving in New York, the young US-American stunned the field in Winston-Salem. In qualifying, he dispatched Tristan Boyer (ATP No. 114) and Valentin Royer (ATP No. 99) with authority. In the main draw, he produced a composed performance to defeat former World No. 12 Borna Coric (ATP No. 104) 6-4, 7-6, showing impressive maturity and resilience under pressure while securing his maiden ATP Tour win.

Currently ranked World No. 409, Blanch has already drawn attention for his aggressive game, fearless attitude, and strong mental toughness. His rise is yet another example of the successful player development model of the Ferrero Tennis Academy, which continues to produce world-class talent.

At just 17, Blanch is not only one of the brightest prospects in US-American tennis but also a rising global star forged in Spain. His Grand Slam debut at the 2025 US Open marks the beginning of a new chapter in a career that is already generating great expectations.
