ISCHGL/STUTTGART, June 13, 2025
From December 11 to 13, 2025, the alpine resort of Ischgl in Tyrol will launch an exciting new sport and lifestyle brand: the Ischgl Trophy, a VIP exhibition tennis tournament. Hosted for the first time at the state-of-the-art Tennis Center Ischgl, this compact yet competitive event takes place during the ATP off-season and will feature a prize purse of €100,000. With seating for 1,200 spectators and live coverage via TV and streaming, the tournament promises world-class tennis in a spectacular alpine setting.
The inaugural edition will welcome both current and former tennis stars, including Dominic Thiem, Tommy Haas, Mischa Zverev, and Fabio Fognini. A total of six top players will compete in two round-robin groups of three, adding intensity and structure to the short-format event.
A Unique Fusion of Sport, Entertainment & Alpine Flair
Ischgl, known for its combination of elite sports and luxury lifestyle, is adding a fresh sporting highlight to its already impressive calendar – home to world-famous events such as the “Top of the Mountain” concerts that regularly attract international music icons to the Tyrolean Alps.
“The Ischgl Trophy is a unique opportunity to enrich our diverse offerings with a high-profile international tennis event,” said Günther Zangerl, CEO of Silvrettaseilbahn AG. “We’re thrilled to host a tournament that strengthens our winter programming and reflects the high expectations of our international guests.”
Tennis Stars in the Snow
Fans can look forward to dazzling on-court action from fan-favorites like Fabio Fognini, Austrian hero Dominic Thiem, and German tennis legends Tommy Haas and Mischa Zverev — all ready to demonstrate their enduring skill and charisma with the racket.
“Ischgl offers an alpine backdrop and infrastructure unmatched in the tennis world,” said tournament organizer Edwin Weindorfer during the event’s launch at the BOSS Open in Stuttgart. “Combining winter sports, high-end lifestyle, and world-class tennis makes for a truly unique experience—for players and spectators alike. That’s what sets the Ischgl Trophy apart.”
More Than Just Tennis
The Ischgl Trophy will be complemented by a rich supporting program. Guests can look forward to a traditional mountain lodge evening, a gala dinner with premium cuisine, and a full range of winter sports and wellness options, including access to the Silvretta Arena Ischgl/Samnaun for skiing and the Silvretta Therme Ischgl for relaxation.
Additionally, the event will feature a Tennis Clinic with Tommy Haas, a Pro-Am tournament, and a Ladies Exhibition Match, further enriching the weekend’s activities.
“Ischgl has always stood for exceptional experiences,” said Alexander von der Thannen, Chairman of the Paznaun-Ischgl Tourism Association. “With the Ischgl Trophy, we’re once again proving that lifestyle, entertainment, and top-tier sports can be perfectly combined.”
