BAD RAPPENAU, June 4, 2025

The weather didn’t exactly play along at the NECKARCUP 2.0, but Wednesday’s action at the ATP Challenger Tour tournament wasn’t completely rained out. Despite intermittent showers and multiple interruptions, two exciting singles matches were successfully completed.

In the first match of the day, sixth seed Francesco Passaro of Italy defeated Norway’s Viktor Durasovic 6-3, 6-4. The 24-year-old from Perugia won an impressive 86 percent of his first-serve points and broke his opponent’s serve twice to secure victory after one hour and 18 minutes on the Hörtkorn Center Court.

Asked about the key to his success in the rain-interrupted encounter, Passaro said: “It was important to stay focused. But I had seen the weather forecast and was able to prepare accordingly.”

Passaro will now face Ignacio Buse. The 21-year-old Peruvian delivered a dominant performance, knocking out Kazakhstan’s Denis Yevseyev 6-0, 6-3 in just 51 minutes.
