VICENZA/STARNBERG, May 31, 2025
The stage is set for the grand finale of the Internazionali di Tennis – Città di Vicenza, FL Service Trophy, which will take place Sunday at the Tennis Palladio 98. Top seed and defending champion Tseng Chun-Hsin of Chinese Taipei will aim to make history by becoming the first player to win back-to-back titles in Vicenza. Standing in his way is Austria’s Lukas Neumayer, who has impressed all week with his resilience and tactical variety.
Saturday’s first semifinal saw top seed Tseng deliver another confident performance, defeating Chris Rodesch of the Luxemburg 6-4, 6-3 in just 80 minutes. Tseng broke Rodesch in the opening game of the match and again twice in the second set, showcasing his trademark speed, consistency, and court coverage. Rodesch had his chances but was unable to convert any of the three break points he earned, struggling to break through Tseng’s relentless baseline game.

The second semifinal was surrounded by anticipation following Jerome Kym’s epic quarterfinal win over Duje Ajdukovic. The Swiss second seed had edged a three-set thriller with three tiebreaks the night before, but the physical toll proved too much. Having recently returned from knee surgery, Kym was forced to withdraw before his semifinal match, handing Neumayer a walkover into the final.
Now, with Tseng chasing a rare title defense and Neumayer fresh and hungry, Sunday’s final promises a compelling clash of styles and storylines. Tennis fans in Vicenza are in for a high-stakes encounter to close out an exciting week of play.
Bondioli/Travaglia triumph in doubles
While the anticipation for Sunday’s singles final builds, Saturday offered a memorable moment for Italian tennis fans as Federico Bondioli and Stefano Travaglia claimed the doubles title in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd. The Italian duo defeated Denmark’s August Holmgren and Johannes Ingildsen in commanding fashion, 6-2, 6-1.
The victory marked Bondioli’s first career ATP Challenger Tour title. The 20-year-old thanked Travaglia for his leadership and experience during the post-match ceremony, and also expressed gratitude to FITP for the wild card that allowed him to participate in the tournament. Their chemistry and composure thrilled the home crowd, who responded with warm and respectful support throughout the match.
