Chun-Hsin Tseng of Chinese Taipei has clinched the title of the Internazionali Di Tennis – Citta’ Di Vicenza. The World No. 253, who entered the main draw of the ATP Challenger Tour 75 clay-court event as an alternate, defeated No. 5 seed Marco Trungelliti of Argentina 6-3, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.

Tseng sent down four aces and won 70 per cent of his first-service points. He broke his rival four times to seal victory in one hour and 20 minutes.

Tseng is no stranger to those familiar with the ATP circuit. Born on August 8th, the same day as Roger Federer, the 22-year-old was selected for the 2022 Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan and was a nominee for the ATP Awards’ Newcomer of the Year, alongside talents like Ben Shelton and Holger Rune. Tseng has reached as high as number 83 in the world rankings

By winning his fifth ATP Challenger career title, his second of 2024 following his triumph at the Kiskut Open in Szekesfehervar, Hungary in March, Tseng earned € 10,200 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.

The ninth edition of the Internazionali Di Tennis – Citta’ Di Vicenza was held at Tennis Palladio 98 in Vicenza. The city is renowned for its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant cultural scene. Often overshadowed by its more famous neighbors, Venice and Verona, Vicenza holds its own as a treasure trove of Renaissance art and architecture, primarily thanks to the work of the renowned architect Andrea Palladio.
