LONDON, May 2, 2025 (ITIA Press Release)

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) today confirms that three tennis players have been suspended, after breaches of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).

Romanian tennis player Alexandra Iordache, who reached a career-high world singles ranking of 756 in August 2023, admitted to contriving the outcome of one match in 2023 in exchange for payment, conveying a corrupt approach to another player, and arranging the destruction of evidence.

Iordache, 21, has been suspended for a period of two years and fined $15,000, of which $5,000 is suspended. The player’s period of ineligibility began on 11 March 2025, and will end on 10 March 2027.

Thai tennis player Anapat Timangkul, who reached a career-high world doubles ranking of 2414 in November 2023, admitted to contriving the outcome of five matches between September 2023 and February 2024.

Timangkul, 22, has been suspended for a period of three years and nine months, and fined $30,000, of which $21,000 is suspended. The sanction is backdated to 8 October 2024, when Timangkul was provisionally suspended, and will end on 7 July 2028.

Chinese tennis player Wang Chukang, who reached a career-high world singles ranking of 786 in February 2020, denied charges relating to soliciting the fixing of a match in May 2022.

A hearing was held remotely before independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer (AHO) Jack Forrest KC on 9 January 2025 who found Wang solicited another player to fix the result of their match, issuing a suspension of eight months, and a fine of $1,500.

The suspension is effective from 26 March 2025, the date of the written decision, and will end on 25 November 2025.

During their periods of ineligibility, Iordache, Timangkul and Wang are prohibited from playing in, coaching at, or attending any tennis event authorised or sanctioned by the members of the ITIA (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon and USTA) or any national association.

The ITIA is an independent body established by its tennis members to promote, encourage, enhance, and safeguard the integrity of their professional tennis events.
