Alexander Ritschard is the last seeded player standing at the Savannah Challenger. The No. 5 seed of the $82,000 ATP Challenger Tour clay-court event being held at The Landings Golf and Athletic Club booked his spot in the semi-finals with a 7-5, 7-5 win over Frenchman Calvin Hemery on Friday.

Ritschard, 30, withstood four aces and broke his rival’s serve three times to advance in two hours and 13 minutes. The World No. 209 from Switzerland is seeking his second Challenger career title following his maiden triumph in Hamburg, Germany two years ago.

Up next for Ritschard will be Dmitry Popko from Kazakhstan, who defeated Dutchman Gijs Brouwer 7-6(7), 6-4 in one hour and 56 minutes.

Andrade to face Janvier

In the bottom half of the draw, qualifier Andres Andrade continued his fine run of form this week in Georgia. The 25-year-old from Ecuador beat Argentine qualifier Federico Agustin Gomez 7-5, 6-1. Andrade converted four of his eight break-point opportunities to secure victory in one hour and 32 minutes.

Andrade will next face Maxime Janvier of France, who rallied past US-American Tristan Boayer 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 in two hours and eight minutes.
