CASSIS, September 8, 2019

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga delighted the home crowd at the Cassis Open Provence by clinching his first ATP Challenger title since 2007. The top seed of the €46,600 hard-court event cruised past 11th favourite Dudi Sela of Israel 6-1, 6-0 in Sunday’s singles final.

Tsonga, who didn’t drop a set en route to the championship match, was in total control of the encounter. The World No. 65 won 95 per cent of his first-service points and broke his opponent’s serve six times to secure victory in only 43 minutes, the shortest completed final in ATP Challenger history.

By claiming his ninth ATP Challenger career title, Tsonga takes away from Southern France €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
