The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, the WTA Tour’s annual kick-off to the spring European clay season, has confirmed the entry of World No. 40 Eva Lys of Germany for the 2026 event, which will take place April 11-19 inside Stuttgart’s Porsche Arena.
The 23-year-old German No. 1, ranked 40th, was one of the biggest risers on the WTA Tour during the 2026 season. Lys compiled a 34-24 win-loss record in 2025 and began the year ranked 130th. She reached the round of 16 at the Australian Open as a qualifier and later was a quarterfinalist at Cleveland and Beijing. At Beijing, Lys recorded the first Top-10 victory of her career against 2024 Stuttgart champion Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan. She was recently nominated for WTA Newcomer of the Year honors.
“The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is for me one of the season’s highlights,” Lys said in a statement. “It’s not only down to the traditionally strong field but also the exceptional atmosphere and the Porsche heritage that makes the tournament something special.”

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix has played a special role in Lys’ career as she won her first WTA Tour main draw match inside Porsche Arena in 2022. Lys, who is both a former Porsche Junior Team and the Porsche Talent Team, has represented the sports car manufacturer as a Friend of the Brand since last April.
A world-class field is expected for the annual WTA 500 event on indoor red clay and already has an early commitment from current World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus, who is a four-time finalist at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix and recently was named WTA Player of the Yar. Last year, there were six Top-10 players in the 28-player draw.
