Tomas Barrios Vera and Mariano Navone will compete in Saturday’s singles final of the 2023 Enea Poznan Open, an ATP Challenger Tour 100 clay-court event being held at the Park Tenisowy Olimpia this week. The No. 5 seed from Chile battled past Zdenek Kolar of the Czech Republic 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 in the stage of the last four on Friday.

World No. 148 Barrios Vera, who finished runner-up to Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech here in Poland last year, withstood six aces and broke his rival’s serve seven times to prevail after two hours and 30 minutes.

Later in the afternoon, Navone eased past first-time Challenger semi-finalist Timo Stodder of Germany, winning 6-2, 6-0. The 22-year-old Argentine dominated the match right from the beginning, converted seven of his 10 break-point opportunities to advance in 61 minutes.

The 25-year-old Chillan native Barrios Vera is seeking his fourth ATP Challenger career crown, his third of the season following hist triumphs at the San Luis Potosi Open in Mexico and in Florianopolis, Brazil. Navone, ranked World No. 240, could lift his maiden Challenger trophy. Barrios Vera won the only previous meeting between the two at the Vina del Mar Challenger earlier this season.
