Brown Receives Munich Wild Card

MUNICH, April 14, 2016

Dustin Brown receives the second wild card into the main draw of the BWM Open by FWU AG, held at the MTTC Iphitos from 25 April to 1 May. The 31-year-old German joins his compatriots Philipp Kohlschreiber and Alexander Zverev, as well as international top-players Juan Martin Del Potro, Dominic Thiem, David Goffin, Roberto Bautista-Agut, Fabio Fognini and Gael Monfils.

“Munich is a great tournament and you need to be ranked inside the top 60/70 in order to enter the main draw. So I am very happy to receive the wild card getting the chance to play here,” told Brown, who will appear in Bavaria for the third consecutive year. He will also play doubles.

The current world number 105 is well known on the ATP World Tour for his spectacular matches. “Dustin can beat any player on the tour. This is what he proved in the past. Spectators can look forward to watching him play,” tournament director Patrik Kühnen is excited.

I just enjoy to show my best tennis on court. If spectactular rallies lead to win a point and people like it, that will be great promotion for the sport,” said Brown, who recently sufferend from an injury at his wrist.

“I had to rest a couple of days but with the start of the tournament, I will be back at 100%.”
