French teenager Arthur Fils continued his great run of form this week on home soil by reaching the quarterfinals of the inaugural Internationeaux de Toulouse, an ATP Challenger Tour 80 clay-court tournament being held at the Stade Toulousain Tennis Club.

The 18-year-old emerged victorious from the battle of the qualifiers with his compatriot Ugo Blanchet, winning 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday. Fils, who captured the 2021 French Open boys’ doubles title, saved all five break points he faced and converted two of his own eight break-point chances to prevail after one hour and 33 minutes.

In his third ATP Challenger Tour quarterfinal, the World No. 351 will play Maxime Janvier of France, who knocked off No. 4 seed Gianluca Mager of Italy 7-6(3), 6-4 in one hour and 26 minutes.
