The European clay court season kicks-off with the €42,500 ATP Challenger Capri Watch Cup, held at Tennis Club Napoli from 4 to 10 April.

World number 103 Filip Krajinovic is the tournament’s top-seed starting his title bid against a qualifier. Second favourite Rogerio Dutra Silva will take on Andrey Golubev and third seed Jan-Lennard Struff will face Italian wild card Gianluca Mager. Best ranked local in the draw, Thomas Fabbiano is seeded fourth and opens his Napoli campaign against Uladzimir Ignatik.

“We are proud to be the first ATP tournament to start this year’s European clay court swing,” told Luca Serre, president of Napoli’s Tennis Club.

“After the success of last year’s edition, we are happy to host the Challenger Tour again. We also mastered the challenges of organizing two Davis Cup ties in recent years.”

“We will have a richt programme of side events taking place during the event,” Simona Marzullo, co-ordinator of the organizing committee added. “Most importantly, we will present a national wheelchair tournament ahead of the Paralympics in Rio this year. Ticket revenues will be donated to the district health services.”
