Two French wild card players headlined quarterfinals action on Friday at the €42,500 Open Harmonie Mutuelle, held at Salle Steredenn in St. Brieuc.

World number 379 Alexandre Sidorenko advanced to his first semi-final on the ATP Challenger Tour in seven years, beating Tobias Kamke 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. The Paris resident fired 11 aces, winning 79% of his first service points to seal victory in two hours and eight minutes.

Sidorenko will take on Aleksandr Nedovyesov in the stage of the final four. The 29-year-old from the Ukraine defeated Federico Gaio 6-3, 6-1. Nedovyesov saved all five break points he faced, converting four of his own to prevail in one hour and nine minutes.

Second wild card Gleb Sakharov also made it to the semi-finals, winning 6-4, 6-2 against fellow Frenchman Gregoire Barrere. The world number 323 won 76% of his first service points and capitalized on four of his eigtht break point chances after one hour and nine minutes.

Sakharov will play Igor Sijsling next. The tournament’s number six knocked off second seed Daniel Evans 6-4, 6-7, 6-4. The 28-year-old Dutch withstood 15 aces, hitting five of his own to finish the encounter after one hour and 43 minutes.
