SHENZHEN, March 27, 2016

Second seed Dudi Sela captured the title of the $75,000 Shenzhen Pingshan Gemdale Challenger, winning Sunday’s final against Di Wu 6-4, 6-3.

The 30-year-old from Israel saved the only break point he faced, converting seven of his own nine chances to seal victory in 63 minutes. Sela celebrated his 20th ATP Challenger career title without dropping a set during the week in China. He has become the only second player in the 20 titles club joining Yen-Hsun Lu from Chinese Taipei with 22 Challenger trophies under his belt.

“I am so happy to win my 20th Challenger title in Shenzhen,” said Sela. “Winning a title here is very important because I didn’t play well after the Australian Open. The performance this week can boost my confidence for the rest of the year .”

Sela takes away $10,800 in prize money as well as 100 ATP ranking points. The world number 84 will be the second seed at next week’s $125,000 Israel Open in Raanana.

“The Challengers have been a very important part of my career,” said Sela. “These tournaments aren’t easy because most of the players either were in the Top 100 or have the ability to get there. But whenever my ranking dropped a bit, I would always go back to the Challengers to get some matches and confidence.”

On Saturday, Australians Luke Saville and Jordon Thompson claimed the doubles title, winning 3-6, 6-4, 12-10 against all-Indian-combination of Saketh Myneni and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in one hour and 24 minutes.
