TALLAHASSEE, March 30, 2022 (Press Release)

The USTA announced that Steve Johnson of Orange, Calif. will headline the competitors for the 2022 Tallahassee Tennis Challenger, a USTA Pro Circuit & ATP Challenger 80 event hosted at the Forestmeadows Athletic Center, April 18-24.

The 2022 event will welcome fans back to the grounds for the first time since 2019. All matches will also be live streamed here.

The tournament is the fourth USTA Pro Circuit men’s Challenger event of the 2022 season and is held on clay courts to help develop players on the surface leading up to the French Open. There are 10 USTA Pro Circuit men’s events (ITF World Tennis Tour events and Challengers combined) currently scheduled to take place in the USTA Florida Section in 2022.

Currently No. 107, Johnson is the highest-ranked of the 21 men who received direct acceptance into the 32-player main draw. 24 players will compete in the qualifying tournament April 17-18, for six other berths. The USTA will also award wild card entries to complete the field.
