Four US-Americans headlined first round action on Tuesday at the $125,000 BMW Of Dallas Irving Tennis Classic.

Quimper champion Andrey Rublev battled past Ryan Harrison, winning 6-7, 6-4, 7-6. The 18-year-old Russian sent down seven aces and capitalized on six of his 14 break point chances to seal victory in two hours and 51 minutes. Rublev awaits the winner of the match between Evgeny Donskoy and fifth seed Inigo Cervantes.

Jared Donaldson emerged victorious from the all-US-American-affair with Tim Smyczek. The 19-year-old California resident withstood nine aces, winning 81% of his first service points to secure a 7-5, 6-4 victory in one hour and 23 minut

Wild card Dmitry Tursonov dismissed Donald Young 6-4, 6-1 in the pair’s first tour meeting. The 33-year-old Russian didn’t face a break point and converted three of his own to finish the encounter after only 58 minutes. Tursonov will meet the winner of the match between Benjamin Becker and US-American teenager Frances Tiafoe.

Marcel Granollers benefited from the retirement of Santiago Giraldo, leading 7-5, 3-1 to reach the second round and Denis Istomin beat John-Patrick Smith 6-2, 7-5 in one hour and 23 minutes.

In the final round of the qualifying Cameron Norrie knocked out first seed Giovanni Lapentti 6-3, 6-4. Jason Jung, Philipp Petzschner and Jakob Sude also reached the main draw. The latter and world number 1338 from Germany will appear in his first ATP Challenger main draw since Freudenstadt 2009.
