Danish teenager Holger Rune claimed his third ATP Challenger career title by lifting the trophy of the inaugural Internazionali Di Tennis Verona hosted by the Associazione Tennis Verona in Tuscany, Italy. The No. 4 seed of the €44,820 clay-court tournament defeated Nino Serdarusic of Croatia in Saturday’s singles final.
Rune advanced to the championship match without dropping set. The 18-year-old Gentofte native beat qualifiers Matija Pecotic from Croatia and Matheu Pucinelli de Almeida of Brazil as well as Italian Riccardo Bonadio and top seed Carlos Taberner from Spain.
Rune saved all six break points he faced in the final and capitalized on three of his own seven break-point chances to secure his 26th match win of the year after one hour and 36 minutes.

Following his triumphs in Biella, Italy and the San Marino Open earlier this season, the World No. 162 earned €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
Frenchmen clinch doubles title
Earlier in the evening, Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul of France took the doubles title. The No. 3 seeds fought past No. 4 seeds Luca Margaroli from Switzerland and Goncalo Oliveira of Portugal 7-5, 4-6, 10-6. The championship match lasted one hour and 39 minutes.
By winning their their fourth team title of the year, Doumbia and Reboul split €2,670 in prize money and collected 80 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
